Woman arrested after hitting husband over Confederate flag

A Florida woman was arrested over the weekend for an incident that began with an argument over the Confederate battle flag.

Margaret Carpenter, 60, of Safety Harbor, Fla., hit her husband multiple times when he refused to take down a Confederate flag, the Tampa Bay Times reported.

According to a police report, Carpenter‘s bracelets broke her husband‘s skin and drew blood.

She faces a domestic battery charge and was released on her own recognizance.
