‘You lie!’— True or false?

False. The president did not lie when he said health reform would not insure illegal immigrants. But, nothing in the Democrat bills so far requires individuals to verify their citizenship or otherwise identify themselves prior to receiving benefits.

Why is that?

To sift through the facts, go here.

And, by the way, when the president said Wednesday night that "preventive care saves money" or that he's adopted Republican ideas into his plan, he lied.

In my Sunday column in the Review-Journal, I'll tell you more about what I thought about the president's speech and ask a few questions, including: Is this guy really as good as he thinks he is?

Update: The Senate "gang of six" is moving to close a loophole in legislation to make sure only American citizens may obtain "Obama-care". Let's see if it makes it into the final legislation. You know if it does it's going to make the Obama wing of the Democrat Party very upset.

Update, Update: NBC's Mike Viqueira reports that President Obama is "clarifying" his health-care proposal to block illegal immigrants from gaming the system. Maybe Rep. Wilson was right? But that's a sidebar at this point. Here's the story, which I expect will be confirmed sometime before the talking heads hit the Sunday talk shows in a few hours.
