YOUR BEST FRIENDS: Readers share pictures of their pets, Sept. 4

Teresa Krolak-Owens of Las Vegas shared this photo of Pebbles, who was adopted from the Las Vegas Valley Humane Society. “Here she is, just a couple of weeks after we adopted her, just so glad to have a forever home to live out the rest of her life.  Her favorite things are her morning walks and protecting her “mom” from everything and anyone who would get in the way of her next meal!  We are so happy to have Pebbles join the family of one dog and two cats here at the homestead.  We're here to say that older dogs and cats make great companions, too, so don't forget to give them a chance at those adoption events!”

“This is my best friend Pepper,” wrote Timothy Goetzinger of Henderson. “She is 1 year old, and my fiancé and I adopted her from a shelter in Los Angeles three months ago. She is the most loving, well-behaved puppy I have ever seen. She is also fully trained already! She is playful and one of the most loyal dogs I have been around. This is her trying to sit in a cat bed at my family's house.”

“These are my lovely dogs, Bubbah, and his daughter Phantom, whose markings reminded me of ‘Phantom of the Opera,’” wrote Amber Welsh House of Las Vegas. “They are inseparable, the very best of friends. I just can't decide if they're being cute or if they're guilty of something!”

Erin Wilson shared this story of Leo, a cat she rescued from Pueblo Park in Summerlin: “To all of the walkers in the Summerlin Pueblo Park, I want to thank all of you for taking care of me while I lived in the park. If it were not for all the food, water and love you brought to me on a daily basis, I probably would not be alive today. I have found a very nice home with one of the walkers. They love me to death. Of course, why wouldn’t they? I am very adorable. I am eating very well; as you can probably see from the pictures, I have put on a little weight. I am alive and happy thanks to all of you.”
