Downtown
The Eco-Easter Bunny visits the Springs Preserve, 333 S. Valley View Blvd., as they make Easter baskets and decorations from objects that might otherwise be thrown away from 10:30 a.m. to noon April 11. Bring the family and learn creative new uses for everyday items. Children must be accompanied by a ticketed parent or guardian. Non-members: $8 adults, $6 children. Members: $7 adults, $5 children. Ages 2 and under are free. Multi-class discount available.

The Bennett Foundation donated 100 Easter baskets to the children of The Shade Tree shelter to go along with a $1 million gift to Noah’s Animal Shelter, which allows families fleeing abusive homes to take along pets. The Shade Tree, which stands at 1 W. Owens Ave., on the corner with Main Street, is the only domestic violence shelter in the country that has facilities for animals. The Bennett Foundation is operated by the family of the late William G. Bennett, the casino mogul who built Circus Circus Enterprises into one of the biggest gaming companies in the world. Bennett died in 2002 at the age of 78.
Boulder City
Residents of Boulder City will gather at 6 a.m. April 12 in Hemenway Valley Park, 401 Ville Drive, for the city’s nondenominational Easter Sunrise Service. The Interfaith Council of Boulder City sponsors the event. For more infomation, call 293-2472.
Easter festivities in Boulder City got off to a rollicking start April 4 when about 800 children gathered in Wilbur Square Park for the town’s annual Easter Egg Hunt. The sorority group Beta Sigma Phi, Lambda chapter hid about 1,000 candy-filled eggs and hundreds of small toys in the park. Kids ranging in age from toddlers to first-graders were invited to hunt them down.
Henderson
The MonteLago Village annual Easter Egg Hunt and events will be held from 11 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. April 12 at MonteLago Village at Lake Las Vegas, 15 Costa di Lago. Kids of all ages are invited to visit the Easter bunny and participate in an Easter egg hunt with the chance to win prizes, toys and candy. Entry for the Easter Egg Hunt is $3, with a portion of proceeds going to benefit Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. For information, call 564-4785.
Celebrate Easter at an interdenominational sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. April 12 at the Palm Green Valley Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. A service also will be held at 6:30 a.m. Sunday at the Palm Henderson Memorial Park, 800 S. Boulder Highway. Both services will be outdoors.  Mountain’s Edge invites the public to its second Easter Eggstravaganza from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 11 at Exploration Peak Park, 9700 S. Buffalo Drive. The event includes brunch, an egg hunt, games and photos with the Easter Bunny. Brunch will be provided with the help of Sonic Drive-In and includes breakfast burritos, French toast sticks and beverages. Pictures with the Easter Bunny cost $7. Guests are invited to join Simon at Palms Place for a children’s Easter Egg hunt at 9:30 a.m. April 12 followed by a decadent Easter brunch. In addition to Simon’s regularly served brunch menu, the Easter brunch will feature a leg of lamb carving station, Anson Mills graham pancakes served with blueberry compote and pure maple syrup, fried green tomatoes with Heritage pork breakfast sausage served with poached egg in tomato hollandaise and more. Tickets are$45 per adult, which includes bottomless champagne, and $22 per child, which includes entry in the Easter egg hunt.
Southeast
Pianist Wes Winters will entertain the Easter crowds from at brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 12 at Envy Steakhouse Lounge in the Renaissance Hotel, 3400 Paradise Road. Easter Brunch is offered at $35 per person. Kids under the age of 12 will receive a 50 percent discount, and children under 5 are free. Reservations are strongly recommended. 784-5716.
Grace Valley Church will host an Easter egg hunt from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 11 at the church, 1370 E. Robindale Road. In addition to eggs, the event also has games, bounce house and food.
Kids ages 1 to 10 are invited to gather plastic eggs at the Hop & Shop Easter egg hunt and family festival at Town Square Las Vegas, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 11. Registration for the hunts begins at 9 a.m. Also entertainment, costume parades, concessions, clowns, miniature golf and a visit from the Easter Bunny. Celebrate spring with the annual Bunny Boogie event, sponsored by Clark County Parks and Recreation and CBS Radio, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 11 at Mountain Crest Park, 4701 N. Durango Drive near Lone Mountain Road. Children ages 10 and younger will visit participating booths for their plastic eggs filled with candy and prizes while their families can enjoy the park and other spring activities. Children can bring their baskets and visit vendors, which will be giving out plastic eggs stuffed with candy and prizes from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. for children ages 1 to 3; from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. for ages 4 to 6 and 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. for ages 7 to 10. After children collect their eggs, they can take them to the prize booth to redeem their rewards. There also will be special spring characters to meet and greet families along with face painters, balloon artists, festival rides and more. Additional fees are required for some of the rides.
Whitney
