The Clark County coroner’s office has released the identification of a body found near Mount Charleston Sunday night. Izaak Paul Towery, 23, of Las Vegas died from multiple sharp force injuries, the coroner’s office said. His death has been ruled a homicide. Towery’s body was found after a hiker reported seeing a body between mile markers 9 and 11 on Kyle Canyon Road, Las Vegas police said. An officer later found the body. Based on evidence at the scene, Metro said, detectives determined Towery had been stabbed several times at that location. His death marked the 42nd homicide in Clark County this year and the 36th investigated by Metro,

A billboard near Interstate 15 and Spring Mountain Road in Las Vegas was found vandalized early Thursday morning. The billboard for Battlefield Las Vegas was changed from “Shoot a .50 Caliber Only $29” to “Shoot a School Kid Only $29”. A number for the shooting range in Las Vegas was covered with “Defend Lives Reform Laws.” A video posted on YouTube shows two people making the changes to the sign last night.
LVMPD patrol officers were dispatched to a lounge located in the 900 block of East Karen Avenue for a report of multiple shots being fired into the business from the parking lot. Officers located a victim inside of the business suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the leg. As the suspect walked by the lounge on foot, he pulled out a firearm and shot into the business without warning. There were multiple people inside the business during the incident but no one saw the suspect.
