‘Girl who liked to fly’ among pioneering aviators honored today in Washington

Women Airforce Service Pilots, better known as WASP, a civilian corps of female fliers, served the military during World War II.
More than 150 WASPs are being honored by the Air Force and Congress. Today, the group will be awarded the Congressional Gold Medal, the government’s highest civilian award.

Nevada Secretary of State Ross Miller has suffered his share of bumps and bruises along the campaign trail but nothing like the bop in the nose he suffered at the hands of Ultimate Fighting Championship President Dana White about a year ago. Miller fights as a hobby, and the bond he formed in the gym with White has led the two to team up on a campaign aimed at reminding young people to return their census forms.
