Poll: Nevadans believe tougher laws would improve economy

A new poll shows a majority of Nevadans believe undocumented workers are taking jobs away from U.S. citizens.
The survey, commissioned by the Las Vegas Review-Journal and 8NewsNow, also shows that almost half of Nevadans believe the state’s economy would be better without illegal workers.

Man dies in Sept. 3 beating on Strip

A man beaten on the Strip early this month died Friday in a local hospital. Las Vegas police said the man, who was not identified, was found with head trauma on a sidewalk on Las Vegas Boulevard at Harmon Avenue about 4:30 a.m. on Sept. 3.
