Texas Chihuahua, lost for 5 months, found in Atlanta

ATLANTA — A five-pound Chihuahua found in Atlanta traveled more than 800 miles in five months.

A volunteer with the Atlanta Humane Society found the missing dog Thursday and scanned him for a microchip.

When the owner, Amanda Benton, was contacted, she was ready to hop in her car and pick Coco up ... until she realized he was in Atlanta.

Coco had traveled all the way from Arlington, Texas, and had been missing since September.

The Atlanta Humane Society bought Benton a flight and she'll pick up Coco Friday. Benton was very touched by the humane society's generosity.
