Body of man who went missing found in Colorado River in northwest Arizona

The body of a northern Arizona man who went missing while swimming with family Monday was found Tuesday in the Colorado River in northwest Arizona.

The victim is identified as Michael Galves, 20. Fort Mojave Tribal Police Chief Sonny O’Hara said family members saw Galves slip under the water in the area of Circle Beach about 6:20 p.m. Monday. Divers recovered his body about 200 yards downriver at about 11:20 a.m. Tuesday.

O’Hara said an autopsy is pending and the investigation continues.
