North Las Vegas motorcycle officer injured in I-15 wreck

A North Las Vegas motorcycle officer was injured in a wreck on Interstate 15 South on Monday night.
The incident happened about 8:30 p.m. near the Washington Avenue exit, Nevada Highway Patrol spokeswoman Trooper Chelsea Stuenkel said.
The officer was taken to University Medical Center with injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening.
Highway patrol troopers and North Las Vegas police are on the scene. It is unclear what led to the crash.
Stuenkel said southbound traffic was diverted off the freeway at Cheyenne Avenue. The southbound lanes were closed during the crash investigation.
