Listen to Georgia inmate Kelly Gissendaner’s emotional last words — VIDEO

Georgia death row inmate Kelly Gissendaner, 47, was executed by lethal injection Wednesday, Sept. 30 for her involvement in the killing of her husband.  Despite her family's pleas to save her life, Gissendaner's final appeal was denied.

Witnesses say she could be seen sobbing through the chamber window after midnight. 

The death row inmate apologized to her late husband's family, calling him "an amazing man" who died because of her. She was the first female inmate in 70 years to be executed in Georgia. 

Gissendaner was convicted of murder in 1997 for persuading her lover to kill her husband, Doug.
