Battle Born Media adds California newspaper

Battle Born Media has announced the purchase of the Pacifica Tribune newspaper from Digital First Media.

The purchase price in the private transaction was not announced.

Battle Born, owned by Las Vegans Sherman R. Frederick and Timothy Dahlberg, now publish 13 newspapers in Nevada and California.

The Nevada newspapers include the Sparks Tribune, the Mesquite Local News, the Ely Times, the Eureka Sentinal, the Lincoln County News and the Mineral County (Hawthorne) Independent News.

In California, the company owns six weekly newspapers in Marin County, Calif — The Novato Advance, the San Rafael News Pointer, the Mill Valley Herald,

the Twin City Times, the Ross Valley Reporter and the Sausalito Marin Scope — and now Pacifica, a community about 12 miles south of San Francisco along Highway 1.

"Publishing community newspapers like the Pacifica Tribune is our forte, and we could not be happier than to demonstrate that again in Pacifica," said Frederick.
