Woman stabbed in traffic incident

An unknown man stabbed a woman in the leg during a traffic incident in the central valley Saturday afternoon, Las Vegas police said.

The victim was taken to University Medical Center with a "serious" wound that requires surgery, said Metro Lt. Jeff Goodwin.

Police and rescue crews were called about 4:45 p.m. to the intersection of Charleston Boulevard and Eastern Avenue, Goodwin said.

The assailant fled the scene.

More information on what led to the stabbing wasn't immediately available.
