Woman left in car after crash for 3 days dies

A Scottish woman who was left injured in her car for days after a crash died on Sunday.

Lamara Bell, 25, was found last Wednesday next to her dead boyfriend John Yuill, CBC News reported. They were found in their car after it slid down an embankment in central Scotland.

"The front of her brain is basically shutting down. She is fighting it until the end," her brother posted in a Facebook update before she died.

The crash was reported to police shortly after it happened, but officers only responded three days later after a second report.

Chief Constable Stephen House said police “failed both families” in an apology.

Politicians and family members were calling for an inquiry into how the report was ignored, and whether it was connected to budget cuts.
