Sanchez to be named to state athletic commission

Longtime NV Energy executive and legislative lobbyist Tony Sanchez is set to be appointed to the Nevada Athletic Commission, reliable sources confirmed.

Sanchez, the senior vice president for government and community strategy at NV Energy, will fill the vacancy made by the May resignation of Bill Brady. The Brady resignation came as a surprise to the commission.

A member of the Nevada Partners board of directors, Sanchez is a familiar face in the halls of the state Legislature. He previously worked at the Jones Vargas Law Firm and has been with NV Energy since 2007.
