A Las Vegas man made his initial appearance Thursday in federal court after he was arrested on suspicion of robbing an armored truck outside a bank, prosecutors said.

Devonte Devon Jackson, 29, has been charged with interference with commerce by robbery and brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence, according to a press release from the U.S. attorney’s office for Nevada.

Jackson is accused of using a handgun and stealing $327,620 from an armored truck outside a bank in the 9600 block of West Charleston Boulevard on July 16, according to prosecutors.

He was arrested by Texas state troopers in Centerville, Texas, on July 29, and was later extradited back to Las Vegas.

If convicted, Jackson faces a maximum of 20 years in prison for the robbery charge and a mandatory consecutive sentence of seven years for the firearm charge, prosecutors said.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Elayna Youchah scheduled a trial for Oct. 20.
