Updated September 5, 2025 - 7:32 am

One person is dead after a vehicle crashed into a pedestrian in east Las Vegas on Thursday, police said.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, a vehicle, which was going at a “high rate of speed,” was traveling south on North Nellis Boulevard, near Nellis and Stewart Avenue, when it struck the pedestrian at about 6:40 p.m. Thursday evening, Metro Lt. Sam Bonner said in a text message.

The pedestrian, who was attempting to cross the road, was pronounced dead at a local hospital shortly after the crash. Driver impairment was not suspected, Bonner said.

In a news release, police identified the pedestrian as a 34-year-old man. His full identity will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office.

Records show that the driver, identified by police as 21-year-old Parker Carreras, is facing reckless driving charges in this incident.
