Kingman man sentenced for fatal DUI crash

KINGMAN, Ariz. — A judge on Monday sentenced a local man to 28 years in prison for a 2013 DUI crash that killed one teenager and injured another.

A jury found Delbert Brechler, 46, guilty of manslaughter, aggravated assault and drunk driving-related charges.

Brechler’s Volvo rear-ended a Ford Ranger pickup truck on Route 66 just north of the Kingman city limits in July, 2013. The crash killed Cody Raymond, 17, and critically injured his 18-year-old friend.

Mohave County Superior Court Judge Rick Williams imposed 18 years for manslaughter and 10 years more for the assault conviction.
