Harry Potter is beating the Bible on Facebook

It’s official, Harry Potter is more influential than the Bible — at least, according to a new study on Facebook.
The Telegraph reports that J.K. Rowling’s popular book series following “the boy who lived” is more popular with Facebook users around the world than the best-selling book of all time.
“For the past year, a meme has circulated around Facebook asking people to list the 10 books that have “stayed with [them] in some way,” The Telegraph writes.
Two researchers, Pinkesh Patel and Lada Adamic, pulled 130,000 of the updates to create a list of the most influential books among Facebook users.
“JK Rowling’s Harry Potter is the star of the show, with books from the series being mentioned in 21.08 per cent of lists,” The Telegraph reports. “The average age of those posting was 37.”
The sample group included 63.7 percent U.S. users, 9.3 percent in India, and 6.3 per cent in the U.K.
