A fired assistant manager of a beauty supply warehouse pleaded guilty Thursday to maliciously setting fire to the business, causing more $1 million in damages.

Reynaldo Staana, 48,, pleaded guilty to one felony count of arson of property used in or affecting interstate commerce.

He faces 5 to 20 years in federal prison and a maximum $250,000 fine.

U.S. District Judge James Mahan set a May 6 sentencing.

Staana has been in federal custody since his arrest in the Sept. 8 arson at the Beauty Supply Warehouse, 3310 S. Nellis Blvd.

According to a criminal complaint, Staana was fired from his supervisor’s position a few weeks before he entered the warehouse after hours on Sept. 8 to steal money from the cash registers.
