Part of West Oakey Boulevard closed because of barricaded man

West Oakey Boulevard is shut down near Arville Street while Las Vegas police investigate a man who has barricaded himself inside a building.

The incident started just after 9 a.m. when officers responded to a domestic disturbance call in the 4600 block of Oakey.

The situation is not hostile, said police Lt. Harry Fagel, and the man barricading himself inside the residence is the only person involved.

Others are not in danger.

This investigation is ongoing. Oakey was still closed at 11:30 a.m. and there was no word at on when the stretch would reopen.
