Four children injured, 1 critically, in Sunday night accident

A toddler was in critical condition and three other children suffered injuries after a collision Sunday night near Cheyenne Avenue and Lamb Boulevard.

About 8 p.m., a 1997 Dodge Neon, driven by a 63-year-old man, ran a red light on Cheyenne at Lamb, Las Vegas police said. It struck a 1998 Ford Expedition carrying a 37-year-old woman and the four children.

Two girls, a 3-year-old and a 9-year-old, were not in safety restraints and were ejected from the vehicle. They were taken to University Medical Center. The 3-year-old has critical injuries and the 9-year-old has moderate injuries.

An 11-year-old girl and a 6-month-old boy also were injured. It was unclear if they were taken to a hospital.

A 58-year-old female passenger in the Dodge Neon was taken to UMC with serious injuries.
