Injury accident closes eastbound lanes on Russell Road

Two people were transported to the hospital Thursday morning after a two-vehicle crash in the southwest valley. One of them with critical injuries, according to Las Vegas police spokeswoman Laura Meltzer.

Police responded to a collision between a van and a sedan about 8:43 a.m. near Russell Road and Durango Drive. The two injured persons were transported to University Medical Center.

The eastbound lanes of Russell at Durango are shut down while police investigate the accident.
