Las Vegas man faces charges in fatal shooting outside Crazy Horse III

A 27-year-old Las Vegas man has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a pimp who reportedly had been bragging about the productivity of one of his girls, according to an arrest report released by the Clark County district attorney’s office on Thursday.

Christopher Mallett, a known member of the Rolling 60s Crips, is accused of shooting Antonio Logan, 28, in the chest on Jan. 11 outside the Crazy Horse III nightclub on Russell Road, according to a Las Vegas police report.

He has been charged with first-degree murder, robbery with a deadly weapon, discharging a gun into an occupied structure and burglary.

He was arrested on Feb. 5 at a fourplex in the 1700 block of Marion Drive near Nellis Boulevard and Owens Avenue. Police were called to the apartment in response to a domestic disturbance involving a man chasing a woman and trying to hit her while she was holding a baby.

When officers arrived, they found Mallett holding the baby and arrested him after a background check showed he had outstanding warrants. On Feb. 13, Mallett was picked out of a photo line up by a cab driver at the Crazy Horse III who witnessed the shooting some time before 8:22 a.m., the report said.

The autopsy showed that Logan died from a gunshot to the chest. He was found in his white Dodge Challenger. A gold necklace was found outside of his vehicle in the club parking lot.

A prostitute who was with some of Mallett’s friends just before the shooting said that the entourage tried to enter the club but was turned away because they weren’t dressed appropriately.

As they were making their way back to their vehicles in the parking lot, Logan reportedly told the group, “My girl can spend circles around you girls.”

The prostitute, who’d been working the Strip all night, said that she knew Logan to be a pimp.

Through the course of the homicide investigation, police pinpointed Mallett through a series of videos, starting with one outside the nearby Chevron and earlier at the Red Label Lounge Bar near the Stratosphere on West Sahara Avenue, where the group had been partying before going to Crazy Horse III.

Logan, who went by the name of “Lo,” apparently had a girlfriend who worked at the gentleman’s club and was described by club personnel as a promoter and a party planner.

Mallett is being held without bail at the Clark County Detention Center and is scheduled for a court hearing Friday.
