Woman arrested in road-rage shooting on the Strip

A woman was arrested Monday after a road-rage incident lead to a shooting on the Strip.

Brittanie Merritt-Burwell, 21, told police she shot a man in the neck after he prevented her from changing lanes while both were driving on Las Vegas Boulevard on Dec. 23 about 11:30 p.m.

The man was taken to University Medical Center. His condition was not immediately known.

She was arrested on attempted murder charges Monday after a patrol officer spotted her car at a Burger King. Police also arrested her boyfriend, Joshua Youngblood, for resisting arrest, carrying a concealed weapon and harboring a felon.

Merritt-Burwell has not yet been charged by prosecutors.
