Police: Jail inmate dies at University Medical Center
An inmate found unconscious after an apparent suicide attempt at the Clark County Detention Center last week died Tuesday at University Medical Center, Las Vegas police said.
The inmate, whose name was withheld pending notification of family members, was found in a dormitory shower Friday. Officers and medical staff tried to resuscitate the inmate. The efforts were continued by paramedics who transported the prisoner to UMC in critical condition.
The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the death. Arrest information on the inmate was not released Tuesday.
