6-year-old girl killed in Tuesday accident identified

A 6-year-old girl who died after being dragged under a car was identified Wednesday.

Censere Mosly-Wedermyer was climbing into the back of her grandfather’s 2006 Dodge Magnum on Torino Avenue, near Durango Drive and state Route 160, when the car began moving.

Las Vegas police said Censere became trapped under the vehicle and was dragged 40 feet before the driver realized what happened.

She died at University Medical Center.

The driver of the Dodge, 52-year-old Michael Gant, was the girl’s grandfather and legal guardian, said police Sgt. Richard Strader.

The accident remains under investigation. This was the 35th traffic-related death in the Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction.
