Land Rover helps Nature Conservancy

Land Rover Las Vegas is lending a hand to The Nature Conservancy, putting one of its off-road vehicles to work for scientists whose jobs rely on tackling some of Nevada’s toughest terrain. Land Rover helped cover the costs of a used vehicle for use by conservancy staff in Nevada’s rugged backyard.

“Land Rover Las Vegas is pleased to be partnering with The Nature Conservancy in this way. We love Nevada’s great outdoors and want to support scientific efforts that keep our beautiful lands and waters healthy,” said Ray Dinardi, general manager for Land Rover Las Vegas.

From the 10,000-foot peaks of the Spring Mountains to the sprawling valleys of Eastern Nevada, scientists from The Nature Conservancy traverse the back roads of the state doing important research and conservation work.

“Our science team puts in thousands of hours and thousands of miles in Nevada’s remote areas,” said Matthew Tuma, state director for The Nature Conservancy in Nevada. “Having the ability to get to all the places they need to go is crucial to doing their work effectively.”

Like Land Rover, the conservancy operates globally and has an active presence in Nevada. The conservancy engages with local communities across the state to protect Nevada’s lands and water .

“We’ve been doing work in Nevada for more than 20 years, and we have plenty more work to do. Having a vehicle known for its ruggedness, reliability and durability will hopefully mean we can spend more time doing our important work on the ground,” Tuma said.

Land Rover Las Vegas is at 5255 W. Sahara Ave. It is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday.
