Coroner identifies man found shot in street

The Clark County coroner Sunday has identified the man who died after being shot in the northwest valley Saturday morning.

Avery Joseph Turner, 28, was found in the street near a median on Jones Boulevard, suffering from a gunshot wound.

The police investigation shows that Turner with a possible suspect before shots rang out. The shooting occurred in an alleyway. After being shot, Turner walked to the median in the street where officers found him.

Turner was taken to University Medical Center, where he later died.

This is the 76th homicide being investigated by Metro this year.
