■ A Tuesday story incorrectly stated the Metropolitan Police Department's budget shortfall and projected 2013-14 fiscal budget. The police department faces about a $46 million shortfall in the upcoming budget year and is projected to have a $502 million budget for 2013-14.

■ Margo Bartlett Pesek's Trip of the Week column Sunday contained incorrect information. The record low temperature of 15 degrees for Furnace Creek, Calif., was set Jan. 8, 1913.

■ A headline accompanying a story about the sale of 18 Wendy's restaurants that appeared in Wednesday's Business section contained an error.

The restaurants were purchased for $23.7 million.

Authorities seek to file terrorism and assault charges against suspect in Walmart knife attack

Grand Traverse County Sheriff Michael Shea said a motive behind the attack by Bradford Gille, 42, of Afton, Michigan, remains unclear. Gille, who Shea said had “prior assaultive incidents as well as controlled substance violations,” said very little as he was arrested.
