Water Cooler

Here are a few items in pop culture that caught our eye last week.

■ Researchers say Lake Tahoe is being infested by non-native fish species, including goldfish that weigh up to 4 pounds. Eek! Also: Aww!

■ Seth MacFarlane ■ is ripped by critics for allegedly being sexist, racist, homophobic and crude while hosting the Academy Awards telecast. We’re shocked — shocked! — that anything coming out of Hollywood might be sexist, racist, homophobic or crude.

■ A class-action lawsuit is filed alleging that Anheuser-Busch waters down 10 of its popular beer brands to cut costs. For the first time ever in American jurisprudence, citizens actually apply to serve on a jury.

■ Voters in an online contest to name a new moon of Pluto pick “Vulcan.” Angry supporters of “Tatooine” ask for a recount.
