One dead in U.S. 95 accident in northwest area

One person died in an accident Monday morning on U.S. Highway 95 near the turnoff for Mount Charleston, according to Nevada Highway Patrol.

Trooper Jeremie Elliott said the accident occurred just after 5 a.m. about 10 miles north of Durango Drive and involved at least two vehicles.

One individual was pronounced dead at the scene by fire officials. Their identity will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office.
