Living with Alzheimer’s: Patsy and Virgil Quinn

Patsy Quinn, 77, has spent the last three years caring for her husband of 55 years, Virgil "Gene" Quinn, 82, as his Alzheimer's disease worsened and worsened. The disease, while taking a physical toll, also changed his personality. "It's the disease making him act so awful, not him, people need to know that," Patsy said of her husband, a once gentle soul who helped nurse her back to health through breast cancer. In late November, Virgil Quinn passed away from complications related to lung cancer.
