UNR interfaith chapel proposed by religious leaders

RENO -- Diverse religious leaders in Northern Nevada are pushing for the establishment of an interfaith chapel on the University of Nevada, Reno campus.

The effort is being led by Rajan Zed, a Hindu leader who also serves as director of interfaith relations for the Nevada Clergy Association.

Jewish, Muslim, Mormon, Episcopal and United Methodist clergy are among 17 who signed on to a recent letter to UNR President Marc Johnson in support of the idea.

They say an interfaith prayer room or chapel on the UNR campus would help meet the spiritual needs of all students from all faiths.
