Pair hurt in plane crash remain in hospital

A 69-year-old woman injured in a plane crash near Blue Diamond last week is in serious condition, University Medical Center officials said Saturday. Her 81-year-old husband remained in critical condition.

The couple, John and Catherine Jamison, were flying from Palm Springs, Calif., to the North Las Vegas airport on Friday when the pilot reported that their Beechcraft Bonanza was having engine trouble. The single-engine aircraft crashed in the desert just after 11:30 a.m. as the pilot was trying to land on State Route 160.

Aviation officials said the Bonanza manufactured in 1948 and is registered to John Jamison, who holds a commercial pilot's license. Catherine Jamison is also a licensed pilot. The couple owns homes in Las Vegas and Palm Springs.

The National Transportation Safety Board has not yet released a report about the accident.
