HIKES

Red Rock Canyon: On Monday, a moderately strenuous 5- to 6-mile hike over Calico Hills. On Tuesday, a 6-mile strenuous hike with some scrambling at Terrace Canyon. Also Tuesday, an easy 3-mile stroll along Oak Creek Trail for dogs. On Friday, a moderately strenuous, 4-mile hike with some bouldering at Krafft Mountain. On Oct. 31, a strenuous 3-mile hike at Red Cap (515-5367).

Around the Bend Friends: This group of people over 50, interested in hiking and related social activities, plans a three-to four-hour moderate hike each Saturday starting at 8:30 a.m. To learn more about the group and the meeting place for the hike, contact 228-0773, or the club's website: www.aroundthebendfriends.com.
