Las Vegas man dies after being pulled out of Lake Mohave

A 20-year-old Las Vegas man died Monday afternoon in an apparent drowning at Lake Mohave.

Witnesses told National Park Service officials that the man was underwater at Six Mile Cove, 14 miles east of Searchlight, for at least five minutes before they noticed he was missing. It took them another five minutes to find the man underwater, pull him to shore and try to revive him.

The man was declared dead at the scene at 1:38 p.m., a little more than an hour after park service officials were notified about the possible drowning.

The man's name was not released. His body has been turned over to the Clark County coroner.
