Authorities ID Las Vegas man, 20, as victim of car crash

A 20-year-old passenger who died Monday in a northeast valley car crash was identified by the Clark County coroner’s office Tuesday as David M. Ritzer of Las Vegas.

Las Vegas police said Ritzer was traveling in a 2004 Mazda RX-8 about 6 p.m. near Hollywood and Lake Mead boulevards.

The driver lost control and slid off the right side of the road. The front of the Mazda hit a water manifold, police said.

The driver and passenger were taken to University Medical Center.

The driver was treated for moderate injuries, and Ritzer was pronounced dead by hospital officials.

The crash remains under investigation. The crash was the 34th traffic fatality this year within the jurisdiction of Las Vegas police.
