Escalator accident at Caesars Palace still under investigation

Officials for Caesars Palace today said they are still investigating the cause of an escalator accident that injured a dozen people on Saturday.

The 1 p.m. accident on a convention escalator caused the people to be taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center for treatment. They were treated and released the same day, according to Harrah's Entertainment spokeswoman Debbie Munch.

Munch refused to comment on the extent of their injuries.

She said the Otis Elevator Company is investigating the accident.
