Man who died in crash identified

The 51-year-old man killed in a crash in North Las Vegas Monday afternoon has been identified as David Franklin Choate of Las Vegas.

Choate was a passenger in a 2002 Hyundai sedan driven by a 47-year-old woman, according to North Las Vegas police. The woman attempted to turn left onto Commerce Street from eastbound Craig Road and was hit by an oncoming tow truck at 3:02 p.m.

The truck struck the car and caused both vehicles to spin into the path of a 2005 Hyundai. Choate died at the scene.

The drivers of both Hyundais were taken to University Medical Center in serious condition.
