Jackson physician reaches deal to pay child support

Dr. Conrad Murray, a former physician for entertainer Michael Jackson, avoided jail for unpaid child support after reaching a last-minute deal with his child's mother.

At a Family Court hearing this morning, Murray's lawyer revealed the agreement to forgive more than $15,000 in missed payments. The agreement requires Murray to begin paying $1,003 a month immediately.

Murray paid $700 in cash in the court as a good faith payment.

The agreement must be formalized by the California court where the case originated.

Murray was Jackson's doctor when the pop star died in June and remains under criminal investigation in connection with the death.
