Internet site allows residents in NLV to monitor crimes

A view of crime in North Las Vegas is now just clicks away thanks to a new Web site launched by the city's Police Department.

The site allows users to search for crimes near addresses, intersections, schools or other geographic points for a period up to 90 days.

Crimes that can be tracked include auto burglaries, homicides, thefts, robberies and stolen vehicles.

Police officials said the information is updated every 24 hours and is based on calls for service to which officers have responded.
