51s keep alive bid to finish year at .500

The 51s kept alive their bid to finish at .500 for the season when J.P. Arencibia delivered a two-out RBI single in the top of the 10th inning Sunday for a 3-2 Pacific Coast League victory over the Portland Beavers in Portland, Ore.

Las Vegas (71-72) wraps up its season today with a 2:05 p.m. game against Portland at PGE Park.

Arencibia drove in Aaron Mathews, who led off the 10th with a walk and moved to second on a wild pitch by losing pitcher Eulogio De La Cruz (2-6). Arencibia's hit to right field came after De La Cruz struck out the 51s' Howie Clark and Brian Dopirak.

Rommie Lewis (2-3) picked up the win for the 51s with two innings of two-hit relief, and Jeremy Accardo registered his 13th save with a perfect bottom of the 10th.

Las Vegas trailed 1-0 when it scored two runs in the fourth on three hits, including Manuel Mayorson's RBI double, and a groundout.

The Beavers tied the score at 2 in the fifth on Russ Adams' second home run of the season.
