Person of interest sought in 2-year-old’s death

Las Vegas police are seeking Emanuel "Dwayne" Dodson as a person of interest in the death of a 2-year-old girl Sunday morning.

Jaylin Anyiah Washington, of Las Vegas, died at a home in the 1700 block of East Karen Avenue, near Sahara Avenue and Maryland Parkway.

A 911 call from the toddler's mother described Washington as "unresponsive." Medical personnel pronounced the toddler dead at the scene.

The Clark County coroner's office determined the cause of death to be blunt force trauma.

Dodson, 28, is the boyfriend of the mother. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt with dark basketball shorts near the home.

He was described as a black adult, standing 5 feet 10 inches and weighing 150 pounds.

Police suspect that Dodson, from Los Angeles, might be headed back to Southern California.

Those with information are asked to call police at (702) 828-3111 or Crime Stoppers at (702) 355-5555.
