Police ask for information in fatal road rage incident

A 22-year-old man injured last week in a case of road rage died this weekend, Las Vegas police said.

The identity of the victim who died Saturday at University Medical Center was not released. Police believe the victim was run over intentionally.

Police said the victim was hit by a car about 10:36 p.m. Wednesday on the 3900 block of East Cheyenne Avenue, near Interstate 15.

Sgt. Russ Shoemaker said the suspect and victim didn't appear to know each other.

"They had a road rage deal for a couple of blocks and it turned into a homicide," Shoemaker said. He said homicides stemming from road rage are rare.

The suspect is described as a man in his mid-30s with short black hair. He was driving a gray Ford Focus or similar compact car. The car might have sustained damage to its front end or driver's side.

Anyone with information about the case is urged to call Las Vegas police at 828-3521, or Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
