Amonix completes new plant in North Las Vegas

Amonix Inc. recently completed its 214,000-square-foot facility in North Las Vegas and is manufacturing concentrated photovoltaic solar power systems.

The Seal Beach, Calif.-based company employs 333 people in clean-energy jobs, with hiring still under way, and is expected to bring $580 million in overall economic development over the next five years.

The plant at 4975 N. Pecos Road was financed with a $5.9 million investment tax credit from the federal stimulus package and another $12 million in private capital.

Gov. Brian Sandoval, Rep. Shelley Berkley and Mayor Shari Buck, among others, celebrated the project with a Tuesday ribbon-cutting.
