Former technology CEO named to MGM Resorts board

The former chief executive of a technology firm has joined the board of directors of MGM Resorts International.
The casino operator announced Wednesday that Greg Spierkel was elected to his new post at Tuesday’s board meeting. He becomes the 12th member of the board.

Spierkel, 56, spent seven years as CEO of Ingram Micro Inc., which distributes and markets technology products from companies including Apple and Microsoft.
Spierkel’s election is subject to required approvals or waivers from gaming regulators.
