Pinnacle Entertainment to add small hotel to Boomtown New Orleans casino
Pinnacle Entertainment officials said Tuesday the company would spend $20 million to build a 150-room hotel tower at the company's Boomtown New Orleans.
The development would mark the second construction for Las Vegas-based Pinnacle in Louisiana. The company is expected to open the $350 million L'Auberge Casino & Hotel Baton Rouge this fall.
The company currently operates three casinos in Louisiana in New Orleans, Bossier City and Lake Charles.
Boomtown New Orleans, which does not have a hotel tower, is located in suburban Harvey, along the West Bank of the Mississippi River and 15 minutes from the French Quarter.
The construction project includes a five-story hotel, fitness center, meeting space and 250 parking spaces.
The addition will be connected to Boomtown's existing facility, which includes a 30,000-square-foot casino, entertainment venue, restaurants and meeting space. Boomtown opened in 1994.
