June 26, 2010 - 11:00 pm
HARMON HOLDUP: The Harmon Hotel at CityCenter seemingly had it all -- designer pedigree, flashy look, Strip-front location. Yet the project is unfinished and lies at the center of a bitter legal fight between MGM Resorts International and Perini Building Co. over defective construction.
BETTERING THE BUREAU: The Better Business Bureau is working to renew itself and remain relevant in the Internet age, when a few mouse clicks can make anyone into an instant consumer watchdog.
THIS WEEK'S BUSINESS PRESS POLL QUESTION
Log onto the Las Vegas Business Press website and let us hear your opinion on this week's question.
The Review-Journal is asking the Public Utilities Commission to release information about renewable energy power-purchase agreements NV Energy has negotiated as part of its integrated resource plan. NV Energy argues that the agreements contain confidential information and releasing them would hurt its ability to negotiate future agreements. The Bureau of Consumer Protection says the public has a "compelling interest" in knowing the details because they affect utility rates.
Do you think the public should have access to details about the agreements?
