During the year, the organization hosts networking events in places like drag bars and strip clubs. Each May, the chamber hosts its annual barbecue and golf tournament at the Chicken Ranch brothel in Pahrump.
BUSINESS LIFE: After seeing "Food Inc.," a 2008 documentary exploring the big business of food production in America, Carrie Hogan decided to act. To get more food farmed by small producers into the valley, Hogan, a professional event planner, helped launch two Fresh52 farmers markets in the valley, one at Sansone Park Place at 9480 S. Eastern Ave., one at the Tivoli Village shopping complex.
